Welcome to Ozark and Dale County

Ozark is a city of 15,119 located in the corner of southeast Alabama.  Dale County and
Ozark have the best of both worlds....a small town atmosphere with friendly people, yet
close to larger cities and other attractions.

The area has a low tax structure, with certain retirement incomes being exempt from
Alabama income tax, as well as one of the lowest crime rates in the state.  The climate is
mild, leaving ample opportunity for outdoor recreation year-round.  A championship
18-hole golf course is located in Ozark, and rivers and lakes are available for fishing and boating.  Bass, bluegill and catfish are the "catch of the day" at Ed Lisenby Lake, located in Ozark.  The sportsman knows no off-season with deer, turkey, and quail in abundance.

Full medical facilities are offered with an 89 bed county hospital, a new surgery center,
two nursing homes, and an assisted living facility.  Educational opportunities are available at nearby Wallace College, Enterprise - Ozark Community College campus located in Ozark and Troy University at Dothan just 15 minutes away.

Housing is available with two new subdivisions, and land for custom homes with acreage.  For the military retired, Ozark is the "Home of Fort Rucker," the largest helicopter training center
in the world.

History, recreation, festivals, entertainment, beauty, climate, security, and fun, can all be found in Ozark, Alabama.  We warmly invite you to visit, or better yet, become part of
our community.  It will be a pleasure to have you.
